This website should provide you with the information you need to safely enjoy the superb kitesurfing conditions which Hayling Island provides. Please read the information carefully, join the club, abide by the club rules and no doubt, we'll see you on the beach.
HKA Committee
Key Information
- West Beachlands is the only location on Hayling Island where kitesurfing is
permitted.
- You must be a member of the HKA to kitesurf here. There is a policy for
visiting kitesurfers.
- This beach is privately owned by the golf club - it is not free access to all.
- The club was formed to ensure the continued, safe use of this superb location
for kitesurfing - please do not jeopardise this.
- The HKA is a BKSA affiliated club. To join the HKA you must be a current
BKSA member and only BKSA insurance is acceptable.

Beware, it gets busy! So whether a seasoned, regular member or a visiting rider, please familiarise
yourself with the club rules. You will also find a reminder on rights of way (rules of the road).

Non-Member Policy
Non-members can kitesurf at Hayling West Beachlands under the following conditions:
- It is a once only visit AND
- They have current third party personal liability insurance cover up to £5 million AND
- They sign the form which will be at the Info point on the beach or with one of the beach patrol AND
- There are less than 75 kites (the current safety limit).
Please note: Hayling gets very busy. Do not expect to be able to kitesurf if you are a non-member. Non-members will also not be permitted on any club social event such as demo days.
